Meaning of PDD term "Data Collection and Acquisition Quality Control"

The PDD paper data collection forms are designed to allow easy recording and transcription of data as well as to help ensure quality control of the data. There are two databases: the preliminary Staging Database and the final Working Database. The following stages are used in the data entry process.

  1. The Article fields are completed by the person who reads the article and completes the paper data collection form. This person is called a "Reader" and is approved by the PDD Editorial Board.

  2. The Data Entry fields are completed by the person who enters the data in the STAGING Database. This person is called a "Data Entry" personnel and is selected by the Reader.

  3. The Proof Reader fields are completed by the person who proof reads the data in the STAGING Database. This person is called a "Proofreader" and is selected by the Reader.

  4. The Reviewer fields are completed by the PDD editorial board member who reviews the data in the STAGING Database. This person is called a "Reviewer" and is selected by the PDD Editorial Board.

  5. The Migration fields are completed by the person who migrates the data from the STAGING Database to the WORKING Database when it becomes generally available. This person is called the PDD database manager.
