Message of the Day - NCI Flicker Web Server
This documents recent Flicker bug fixes and new features. See Flicker
status for the version information.
- Dec 28, 1998
Fixed memory leak when doing sequential transforms. Added Median and
Threshold (gray value in range of [threshold1:threshold2])
transforms.
- Dec 23, 1998
Added gang-image scrolling and display gray value toggle modes in the
FILE menu. Increased the efficiency of many of the transforms.
- Nov 12, 1998
Added clickableGUIbaseURL PARAM was specified for an image when
Flicker was started, then a new checkbox "Click to access DB" is
included. If you set that checkbox and then click on a spot in the
image, it will access related data from the associated database
specifed by the URL. See examples

[11-12-98]
The "Mult popup wind(ow)s" menu selection in the FILE menu toggles
between creating multiple windows for every popup or placing all popup
data into the same popup window.
LI> Nov 9, 1998 Added three selectable
color modes: Normal color (default), pseudo color, and RGB to gray
color. These are selected from the FILE menu and are activated when
using the brightness/contrast adjustment with the SHIFT/mouse motion.
- Nov 6, 1998 A number of bugs have been
fixed. This includes:
- The NCI image proxy server connection is now more robust;
- The SHIFT key used with the mouse will change the contrast and
brightness of the image. This is useful for interactively setting the
contrast for one image to that of the other before flickering. Note
this is still somewhat buggy.
- You can display the (x,y,gray) values of a pixel of an image as
you drag the mouse. The image must have been processed (eg. having
done an Average transform) instead of just the (x,y) values.
- You can move both images together if you press the SHIFT and
CONTROL key prior to clicking the mouse in one of the images.
